Automated External Defibrillation
An AED or ‘shock box’ as it is now commonly known, is becoming more popular in both work places and public venues. Over 700,000 people suffer a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) each year according to the UK Resuscitation Council.
The use of an AED greatly improves the casualties chances of survival if attached with the first few minutes.
Blue Tiger deliver structured AED courses to a diverse range of people, ranging from first time users through to qualified healthcare professionals.
- No previous knowledge required
- Course is 4 hours in total
- Includes Basic Life Support (CPR) training
This course is a mixture of foundation theory and practical application. Using an AED can seem a daunting task; therefore practical application allows the candidates to develop their confidence within the newly acquired skill.
Included within the course: -
- Safety at scene & casualty assessment
- Basic Life Support
- What is an AED and safety issues
- Basic anatomy of the heart and electrical pathways
- Safe use of the AED
- Maintenance of AED and downloading of data
- Record keeping
Every candidate will be issued a Basic Life Support and AED Provider Certificate, valid for 12 months and a personal resuscitation shield (for use in the event of an emergency after the course)
Please note: Maximum candidates per session is 6
